Cindy Prinsen
Cindy Prinsen uses her work to address societal issues. Her focus is mainly on topicsshe encounters in her daily life.Her work is intended to raise questions and create space for dialogue and reflection.She uses art as a medium for interaction between people and for raising awareness oftheir own behavior.
She works with various materials and techniques, translating her research into visualform.With her diplomas in care, spatial design and crossmedia design with a minor inpsychology, she aims to make connections between human , arts and design.

In 2025, Cindy graduated from Aki Artez in the direction of crossmedia design. After hergraduation, she started working part-time as a spatial designer. Besides that she workson her own projects at Black Brick. She also does volunteer work at the AdvisoryCommittee for Art and Culture at the municipality of Hengelo.

Project: The social aspects of homelessness in Enschede
For my final year at Aki Artez University of Arts, I researched how the citizens and themunicipality treat homeless people in my hometown Enschede. After writing my thesisabout this subject I created my gratuation work based on my research. With a almostthree meter high sculpture i visualised the feeling of uncomfort that can happen duringan interaction between someone who is homeless and someone who has a place tolive.
Anything but fabric
With this project I wanted to make people more aware if the enviromental influences ofthe making and coloring of textiles.That is why i made a sculpture called 'Anything butfabric'.I hardened out old clothes using glue and natural based pigments to model a shape thatgave me the feeling of when a human is slumping their shoulders.
It shows sadness and exhaustion, with the red thread that is still connected to earth.In the background you can hear nature sounds, water flowing and birds singing .
